A Friday sentencing hearing for convicted embezzler Kimberly Sziraki was postponed until Sept. 14 in Merced County Superior Court.
The hearing was moved because Judge Ronald Hansen, who presided over Sziraki's case, was unavailable Friday.
Sziraki, 45, pleaded no contest last month to stealing $1.6 million from a Merced nut processing plant. As part of the plea agreement with prosecutors from the Merced County District Attorney's Office, Sziraki will be sentenced to between five and eight years in prison.
There isn’t any more story to read at the link but you can check out the comments left by the crazy people. Until they move the story and break the link, of course.
What were they thinking scheduling a hearing for a Friday? Isn’t that golf day for lawyers and judges?
