Hsien at A Hearty Life is kicking off a new series, What's In Your Medicine Chest? When I said I would participate, I had no idea it would turn into a scavenger hunt. I also had no idea just how much medicine and medical paraphernalia we have about the place. Sheesh.
The Main Stash. We keep our main meds in baskets in a dining room cabinet, along with the backup cat food and a lunch tote. If I had panned to the right, you would also see (rarely used) yoga paraphernalia. The teeny, tiny tags on each basket read: Vitamins, OTC, and Rx, which is laughable because I just went through them and they were shockingly comingled.
So post-photo, my sis and I reorganized to:
- Cough, Cold, Allergy, & Tummy
- Pain & Sleep (gotto love those surgery leftovers like Vicoden and Xanax)
- Sis (easier for her to keep all her daily meds in one place)
Wound Central. A built-in closet organizer in the walk-in closet off the master bath houses Band-Aids of all shapes, sizes, and application method: self-stick, tape on, wrap around, and liquid. (Liquid!) Plus Q-Tips and cotton rounds and a few wayward allergy meds.
Kitty Care. I have to give my elderly kitty subcutaneous liquids every other day, so I have rigged up the pressure bag on the back of my bedroom door. I keep extra liquids and needles in a bureau drawer. This is not exactly a medicine cabinet, but it is medical and it depresses the hell out of me thus I force you to share in my misery. Um, sorry.
For all ten of my exciting medicine cabinet pictures, including diabetic supplies in the fridge and a breathtaking shot of my pill box on the bathroom counter, check out my Flickr photo set What's in your medicine cabinet?
My apologies, Hsien. I am sure when you asked for a simple picture of my medicine chest, you did not expect this!
So, what's in your medicine cabinet?

The organization with the baskets is just disgusting. You are making others look bad you know.

Yeah -- I'm split between afraid and eager to have her come visit me, so she can organize my place!
Seriously she's a SUPER organizer and should hire her skills out in that area!

Well, in the actual medicine cabinet in the master, it's tooth
care, deoderant and a jar of Aloette Restorative Enzyme Peel -
A superior product I recommend to everyone - dead skin just rolls off by the pounds - big fun!
Everything else is in the kitchen vitamin/junk cabinet, which contains vitamins & junk! Oh, and cold stuff, aspirin, alergy stuff and bandaids.
When you come to visit, if you so much as crack a cabinet or closet door, I will have you shot on sight! No one who knows my secret shame can be allowed to live!!!

You poor sad disorganized people. Doesn't it make you tired always having to search for something when you need it? "Hm, rubber bands, old cough drops melted together into one giant lozenge, calcified jelly donut - hey, how'd that get in here? - ah, there it is: Tylenol."
I am exhausted just thinking about it.
