I am off to Orcas Island tomorrow to picnic and party with my newlywed friends and maybe even do a little hiking. (Ha ha! Not really about the hiking. It is not entirely out of the realm of possibility, but I expect I will do more ordering of room service than hiking of the hills.)
I am contemplating taking my laptop with me so I can blog from there, but I am undecided. On the one hand, it would be great to stay connected via email and to surf the net as I lie there late at night in my luxury hotel room. On the other hand, my laptop is a dinosaur that weighs over eight pounds.
Yes, you heard me correctly. 8.4 pounds, to be exact. What can I say? I bought it in 1999.
Oh.
My.
God.
My laptop is from the LAST CENTURY. In fact, this Friday is the seven year anniversary of the date I ordered it. (What? Of course I still have the receipt. It has the original configuration all written down in one place. A convenient location to keep track of memory upgrades and all that jazz.)
I am also thinking I should leave my laptop behind because, if I don't, I might end up spending so much time observing and recording events that I don't let myself fully enjoy the experience. It is a dilemma.

Alright! I will take my laptop with me. Geez, quit nagging!
